Upon request from a leading AI service provider in Shanghai, Taybo developed a bespoke modular liquid cooling solution for thermal management in its AI computing infrastructure.
项目概况 Project Overview 本项目为AI训练服务器热管理项目。本项目甲方需求AI服务器的每个机柜热负荷20kW,共设置40个服务器机柜,总热负荷800kW。目前,泰铂AI算力热管理液冷模块的服务器机柜单机柜最大散热量为120kW。 This project is an AI training server thermal management solution. As required by the client, each AI server rack has a thermal load of 20kW, with a total of 40 server racks deployed, resulting in a combined thermal load of 800kW. Currently, TechPro's AI computing thermal management liquid cooling module supports a maximum heat dissipation capacity of 120kW per server rack. 气候条件 Meteorological Conditions 项目位于上海市,该地区夏季(7-8月)湿球温度常达28-30℃,历史最高湿球温度约31℃。夏季极端最高气温39.4℃,冬季极端最低气温-10.1℃。 The project site is situated in Shanghai, characterized by summer (July-August) wet-bulb temperatures ranging between 28-30°C and a historical maximum of 31°C. Recorded extreme temperatures include 39.4°C in summer and -10.1°C in winter. 热管理解决方案 Thermal Management Solution 硬件组件工作温度 Hardware Component Operating Temperature AI服务器的整体工作允许温度60℃,为保证设备高效运行,控制温度在55℃以下。 AI servers are designed to operate up to 60℃, but a sustained temperature ≤55℃ is recommended to maintain computational efficiency and extend hardware lifespan. 采用泰铂科技积木式AI算力热管理液冷模块,室外冷源1.5倍冗余设计。设计方案如下图所示: The solution utilizes Taybo's modular AI computing thermal management liquid cooling modules, with a 1.5x redundant outdoor cooling source design. The detailed system design is shown in the following diagram: 项目共设置3台冷却塔(每个冷却塔额定散热量400kW),搭配6组CDU,一组CDU搭配5-7个AI服务器液冷机柜,UPS单元单独设置。一体化整合CTS + CDU + PDU等设备,减少现场安装复杂度,提升系统可靠性。其中冷却塔采用316不锈钢一体化弯折工艺,耐腐蚀、抗严寒,适应极端气候环境,智能控制系统优化水、电消耗,实现高效节能运行。本项目系统通过精确的控制冷却液的流速、温度和压力,PUE低至1.03,显著降低数据中心运营成本。通过隔离TCS和SCS回路,减少交叉污染和泄漏风险,提高系统的整体可靠性。 The project deploys 3 cooling towers (each rated at 400kW heat dissipation capacity), paired with 6 CDUs (Cooling Distribution Units). Each CDU supports 5-7 AI server liquid-cooled racks, with UPS units configured separately. The system features integrated CTS (Cooling Tower System) + CDU + PDU (Power Distribution Unit), reducing on-site installation complexity and enhancing overall reliability. The cooling towers utilize 316 stainless steel with seamless bending technology, offering corrosion resistance and extreme cold tolerance for harsh climates. An intelligent control system optimizes water and power consumption, ensuring energy-efficient operation. The system achieves a PUE as low as 1.03 through precise control of coolant flow rate, temperature, and pressure, significantly reducing data center operational costs. By isolating the TCS (Tertiary Cooling System) and SCS (Secondary Cooling System), the design minimizes cross-contamination and leakage risks, improving overall system reliability. 温度论证:AI服务器侧供液最高温度40℃与服务器运行温差最小15℃,满足散热需求。上海市室外湿球温度最高约为31℃,与一次侧载冷剂温差5℃,满足换热需求。高效板换对流换热,换热温差仅为2-3℃。因此,本项目配置满足AI算力需求,且在满足冗余的情况下最大限度的节能。 Thermal Performance Verification: The maximum supply coolant temperature for AI servers is 40℃, with a minimum 15℃ temperature differential from server operating temperatures, ensuring effective heat removal. Shanghai’s peak wet-bulb temperature reaches 31℃, maintained at a 5℃ differential from the primary coolant, meeting heat exchange requirements. The high-efficiency plate heat exchanger achieves a 2-3℃ temperature differential during convective heat transfer, optimizing energy efficiency.
